“We don’t normally report on every single shipment we help to fund. In fact, sometimes it’s a small portion of a dozen or more shipments a year, but this one is special,” Say Andy Morris, Executive Director at FastPrayGive.org. The Rise Against Hunger shipment with $18.7 Million in aid arrived in Ganta, Liberia, and completed a project which was pushed along by many organizations including the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church. FastPrayGive.org provided a matching grant to help offset half the cost of the shipping logistics for this program. The container was filled with 289,000 meals as well as medical aid and supplies.
The shipment was featured in a previous FastPrayGive.org article about Global Aid Shifting Gears during a pandemic. To celebrate, we’re hoping you’ll share these photos provided by Allen Zomonway, the administrator at Ganta Hospital.
“Normally our task is to introduce and encourage people to join this movement to end hunger,” says Morris, “but because we’ve helped to push the aid which is a direct result of the faithfulness of the people Fasting, Praying, and Giving we have to also stop and celebrate the change agent that food becomes.”
