FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Welcome to Advent!
As an extension of the weekly scripture and devotion offering through the FastPrayGive.org program, WesleyMen is offering an Advent through Epiphany guide. (November 27th through January 6th)
Advent through Epiphany is the season for Christians to remember and rehearse “the coming of the Lord.” In this guide, we provide daily scripture, prayer, and reflection to prepare for the birth of Jesus as God’s embodiment, or incarnation, among us. Our Advent triptych is built upon three ideas in the Christmas story: Preparation, Celebration, and Migration. We’ll explore these through Matthew’s gospel through dreams and Christ’s genealogy. In addition, we’ll look at some of Luke’s gospel for good measure. Together we will explore each of these and how they impact Advent in different yet interlocking ways. Together, we are called to deepen our discipleship, profoundly involving God in our inner and outer lives, what John Wesley called “piety” and “mercy.”We invite you to connect with our core ministry, FastPrayGive.org, where you may become part of a year-round weekly discipline and join a growing movement to end hunger by grace.
FastPrayGive.org hopes that this will lead you on a spiritual journey in this season as we remember and rehearse the birth of Jesus and help make your experience enjoyable. Also included in this guide is the opportunity to act this season by contributing to our increased efforts to help migrants this season.

FastPrayGive is a global grassroots movement to end hunger by the means of grace. You are invited to skip one meal per week, pray for hungry people during that time, and give the inexpensive cost of a daily meal for someone in need (starting at $8 per month). It’s incredibly simple, and by participating at FastPrayGive.org, we’ll send you encouragement and prayer examples weekly via email. Through practicing spiritual disciplines like fasting, prayer, and generous giving, we’re asking God to be deeply involved in our efforts to end hunger.
WesleyMen is formally the World Fellowship of Methodist and Uniting Church Men and is an affiliate organization of the World Methodist Council. WesleyMen seeks to connect men in the Wesleyan tradition for Christian fellowship and witness through active works backed by words.
Praise For Triptych

Rev. Dr. Jean Hawxhurst
Ecumenical Staff Officer, The Council of Bishops, The United Methodist Church
It is so good to be reminded of our Wesleyan Heritage and to delve into scripture with that lens. I appreciate the daily opportunity to reflect and pray as a disciple called to social holiness, loving our neighbors sacrificially after the example of Christ.

Rev. Jim Harry

Three Days in … The genuineness of the reflections and the prayers are invitations to self-empty and to grab the throne chair and yet they’re gentle and so very real.

Rev. Dr. F. Belton Joyner, Jr
North Carolina Annual Conference
Thank you for the powerful prayers that were part of this year's [Lent]Triptych. I really felt that I was praying them, not just reading them.
